Die Hard Utes Fan

The Utes had their last home game and even though Josh couldn't attend, he acted just like he was going. Here's a picture of Josh.

All I want for Christmas is...

my bottom front tooth!! Josh lost a tooth today. He was so excited. He brought it home in a mini red plastic treasure chest box. He couldn't have been more proud.

Allstar Baseball Teams

Both Sam and Jonah made the 2009 Allstar baseball team for their divisions. So needless to say, it was a summer of baseball. Jonah's team ended up coming in second place in both tournaments they played in. It was an awesome experience for both of them. One never to be forgotten!

Baseball Season Begins

Josh played on the Tigers for his rec team.
It was his first year playing machine pitch. He loved it!

Cousin Michael Ann spent Easter with us this year. It was fun to have her stay with us. The boys loved getting to know their cousin from KY.

Here's is Matt's latest creation -- it's supposed to be like a Monte Cristo but with bacon and scrambled eggs inside. The bacon was baked in the oven with brown sugar sprinkled on top. The picture doesn't do it justice!

It all comes down to this -- if you want good food, make sure Matt's cookin' and come on over!Posted by Picasa

Annual Super Bowl PAR-TEEE

The annual Super Bowl party was lots of fun this year. Matt cooked his yummy ribs. They were delisioso as usual. Although the outcome of the game wasn't what we had hoped, it was a fun game. It had my 4 boys on the edge of their seats! Maybe next time -- AZ!

Pinewood Derby x's 2. This year since Jonah is now a Boy Scout, we made 2 cars to race in the Pinewood Derby. Maybe "made" isn't the correct word I should use. Matt had an engineer friend from work "make" the cars -- Sam and Jonah painted them. True to form, our cars were close to dead last. Darn, Sam was sad -- the owner of the slowest car got a bag of peanut m&m's and plain m&m's. That is the prize he was hoping for the most!

Talented Beyond Measure

Okay, now I am going to brag about my mom. She is an amazing artist. She quite recently picked it up and it looks like she has been painting for years. She likes watercolor the best and you can see why.

She is the kind of person you can be jealous of because she succeeds in all she sets out to do. I thought I would share pictures of some of the paintings she recently gave us. Thanks Mom!

Happy New Year

It's been way too long since I posted. We had a wonderful 2 week break from school and now we are back into the thick of things. I think the boys were ready to get back to some type of schedule although I'm sure none of them would admit to it.

Besides Christmas, there were probably 3 highlights:
Mac - We are getting used to him as he is to us. Although he isn't the sleepy puppy he used to be. Instead of sleeping all the time, he is now enjoying licking and chewing everything in site. We are trying to teach him that nipping at people isn't acceptable. We had a trainer come over and help us so now we have a good idea what to do. We just have to be consistant. The funniest thing that has happened (at least it's funny now) with Mac is this. Before setting off to school and an afternoon out with my mom, Josh put Mac in his kennel. Upon arriving home, I went to get Mac out of his kennel and to my surprise the kennel door was wide open. My stomach flip-flopped as I wandered the house calling for Mac. Mac came down from upstairs looking as happy as a clam. I then searched the house for "accidents". Luckily, the bedroom doors were closed so he really had no where new to wander. There were no accidents to be seen so I let a sigh of relief and learned that I must check his kennel before leaving! We thought Mac was potty trained and it looks like we were right!

Cousin Dave sleeps over! We had some UTES fans over to watch the Sugar Bowl. Dave had played that afternoon and due to weather issues he was able to stay the night. We were thrilled. They played a lot of Rock Band, laughed a lot and went to a movie. It is always a blast to have Dave here. The boys just can't get enough of cousin Dave. As usual when it was time for Dave to head home, there was great disappointment and some good debating as to how he could stay over one more night!

Grandma stays over! Grandma came and spent the afternoon and stayed the night. The boys were so excited to have her. They spent time catching up. Grandma even took turns playing the guitar, drums and singing when they played Rock Band. At dinner, when everyone took turns telling their lo-light and high-light for the day, everyone's highlight was Grandma staying over! They will miss her but thank goodness there are emails and great spring weather which will draw us south to visit her.
